Dear Ones,

This is the beginning of our spiritual year. The moon of Nisan, and the official birth of spring, when kings were anointed in biblical times. When each one of us decides how to become sovereign, king and queen of ourselves, integrating brain, heart, liver and kidneys (Moach, Lev, Kaved and Klaiot= notarikon for MeLeKh: sovereign)

This is also associated with the verb: Speech - the time to begin telling our story for the year, to walk our talk, so to create as we speak (Abracadabra: Ebrah Kedivra in Aramaic), to connect with the power of the word, with the power of story. The outer telling of our embodied inquiry.

Meanwhile, in most parts of our planet, bombarded by all sides with dystopias and bad news based on greed, injustice, and fear, we intend to anchor ourselves at our core, fully creative, to serve as a refuge for the heart.

These are times for solidarity, to focus on what benefits all, not by shying away from what is good for us, but quite the opposite, by emphasizing our gifts to the world.

Some Good News!

At our celebration at Barzakh Cafe, in Brooklyn, we shared my new book: “On the Verge of the Verb” creating spontaneous community in less than two hours. It was beautiful!

Present were some people coming straight from demonstrations for justice, others fasting for Ramadan, my dear family: my mom, nieces and nephews, Jewish brothers and sisters from the city, friends from Palestine and Mauritania, South America, Canada, from the West and East Coast of the USA, upstate NY, and even some Brooklynites. It was a microdose of peace, wholeness, song, and reflection. A breath feast.

On the Verge of the Verb, a newborn living entity by now, was leading the pulse of the afternoon.
